Unorthodocs @ the Wex: Faces and Places

I had the pleasure of seeing a screening of “Faces and Places” at the Wexner Center tonight. It was part of their ‘Unorthodocs’ series of documentaries being screened this weekend. I went in blind, knowing nothing about the film. My friend asked me to accompany her, so I went. Today was long, I was fussy and rushed after work and not expecting to be charmed. At first I resisted: seeing Agnès Varda and JR  laying out the premise, I thought, oh, sort of an Amelie/Harold and Maude hybrid, okay, this will be maybe sweet and twee, that’s fine. Then it worked it’s magic and I was enchanted and transported. I don’t want to say too much, I just want to savor the delight this film gave me. Go see it if you get the opportunity.
